Profile Information: City, plant care experience level
Plant Data: Photos of your plants (taken via camera or uploaded from your library), plant names, care notes
Chat Data: Messages and images sent within the app to AI plant assistants
Device Information: Device identifiers used for push notifications and app functionality
Bluetooth Data: The app uses Bluetooth to connect to compatible plant monitoring devices. No Bluetooth data is stored on our servers.

Clerk (clerk.com) — User authentication and account management
Google Firebase (firebase.google.com) — Data storage, cloud functions, and file storage
OpenAI (openai.com) — AI-powered plant identification and chat responses. Plant images and chat messages may be sent to OpenAI for processing.
Apple Push Notification Service — Delivery of push notifications
Each third party has its own privacy policy governing their use of your data.
4. AI-Generated Content
PlantPetz uses artificial intelligence to provide plant care advice and identification. AI responses are for informational purposes only and are not a substitute for professional horticultural advice. We are not responsible for outcomes resulting from following AI-generated suggestions.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account through the app, all associated data including plants, chats, journals, and profile information is permanently deleted.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Delete your account and all associated data (available in Settings → Delete Account)
Withdraw consent at any time
8. Children's Privacy
PlantPetz is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
